Head and Munky from Korn helped pioneer the nu-metal movement with their 7-string guitars and aggressive grooves in a dropped tuning
In their quest to evolve this sound and fully unleash the true potential of their instruments, they turned to Dunlop. We worked closely with both guitarists to create a string set based on Heavy Core technology for expanding the dynamic range, optimal tension during retuning, and incredible tuning stability. This is the same string set meticulously crafted for the tonal and tactile dynamics of a 7-string guitar. Each set includes a Tortex® pick with a custom print - the same one Head and Munky use to play their instruments strung with these strings.
