Fil wanted a single-coil sized pickup with the punch and attack of a full-sized humbucker while maintaining clarity. The Sugar Chakra™ offers a dense, thick sound with a crunchy midrange, designed to deliver the feel of a full-sized humbucker in a single-coil format. The top end is very smooth, and the midrange is sharp enough to cut through any mix.

Fil tested the Sugar Chakra on the G3 tour with Joe Satriani and John Petrucci. He says: "It's really clear and articulate, but it's got balls and strength. It will be a stunning new addition to the DiMarzio family."
